Patients with PsA may experience flares, which are characterized by worsening of disease activity and intensity presenting with swollen and tender joints.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/psa-linkedin2-_1_.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26616\" style=\"width:649px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/psa-linkedin2-_1_.webp 768w, https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/psa-linkedin2-_1_-300x176.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Biomarkers can detect flares in PsA patients <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The implementation of biomarkers related to PsA activity and flares, helps identifying the right patients, which will improve patient management and decrease flares. In this study, we evaluated blood-based biomarkers of inflammation, fibrosis, and joint destruction in patients with and without flares, and found that the inflammatory biomarkers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/biomarker-portfolio\/vicm\/\">VICM<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/biomarker-portfolio\/cpa9-hne\/\">CPa9-HNE<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/biomarker-portfolio\/crpm\/\">CRPM<\/a>, together with the fibrosis biomarker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/biomarker-portfolio\/pro-c3\/\">nordicPRO-C3\u2122<\/a>, showed a good discriminatory performance separating the PsA patients with flares from the patients without.<br><br>Such biomarkers may therefore serve as tools for quantitatively monitoring flares in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/biomarker-solution\/dermatology\/psoriatic-arthritis\/\">PsA<\/a> patients and have valuable applications in the detection of disease, as well as the monitoring of health status.
