At Nordic Bioscience, we are dedicated to developing biomarker solutions that provide valuable insights on cancer, enabling drug developers to improve cancer treatment options.<br><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"716\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/world-cancer-day.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27797\" style=\"width:767px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/world-cancer-day.webp 1200w, https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/world-cancer-day-300x179.webp 300w, https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/world-cancer-day-1024x611.webp 1024w, https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/world-cancer-day-768x458.webp 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Wo<em>rld cancer day is an international awareness day for spreading knowledge about cancer <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><br>In honor of this day, we would like to share a paper by our ontology team, which unveils a promising avenue for harnessing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/biomarker-portfolio\/pro-c12\/\">PRO-C12<\/a> as a non-invasive serum biomarker, enabling the quantification of type XII collagen fragments in cancer patients. <br><br>With increased stiffness and remodeling often driving tumor growth and metastasis, the extracellular matrix (ECM) plays a crucial role in cancer progression.<br><br>Produced by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicbioscience.com\/biomarker-solution\/cancer\/cafs-cancer-associated-fibroblasts\/\">cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs)<\/a>, type XII collagen is a key regulator of ECM organization, stabilizing type I collagen fibrils, contributing to ECM stiffening, and facilitating a pro-invasive tumor microenvironment (TME).
